Some Things That I Knew Before the Class

Now, we have already finished the second week. This week, we talked about a lot of subjects. In the first session, we discussed basic definitions and steps on data analysis. In that session, there were things that I already knew, like data preparation, measuring priorities, data distribution, outlier formula, data transformation, and data clustering. However, I still learn a lot of things. For example, how to do data analysis, search problem statements, and interrogate the data.

Basically, in the second session, I already knew a lot of things about statistics. That was because I have finished a course on statistics and probability. But I am still learning new things like experiments.

Last but not least, the last session is the session when I don’t know much about the topic. In this session, we talked about how to create an analysis document. It was really a new thing for me. However, it was making me curious to learn about the topic.

My Feeling in the Class

Until this week, we didn’t have homework or assignments. But, this week, we always do a group discussion at the end of class. That discussion encourages us to make a report to be presented.

Because of the limit of time, the discussion section could make me confused. Most of the time, we don’t really know what and how to discuss the problem. I think our team made a lot of errors even until the discussion was over. Even so, I really like the process. It makes me realize that I still need to learn a lot of things. Like, learn from some errors that I make while doing the discussion.

Not only that but this week also made me realize that presenting your result to the mentors is important. When we can tell our result, they will give us feedback based on our result. Their feedback will make us know our faults and make us fix our mistakes. It will really help us to avoid the same mistakes in the future.

How I Use My Knowledge From This Class

I think the knowledge that they give to us this week will be useful in the future. For example, the knowledge that helps us to find the problem statement. It really helps us, especially me, to improve our critical thinking. Even if we don’t use that in data analysis, it will be useful in our daily work or life.
